Antonios Tzanakopoulos advises Cyprus on proceeding against Russia for violations of International Law

On 26 February 2022, Ukraine instituted proceedings against Russia before the International Court of Justice in The Hague in the case concerning Allegations of Violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. In the course of the proceedings, many states have filed declarations of intervention in the case in accordance with Article 63 of the Statute of the Court.

Antonios Tzanakopoulos was instructed by the Republic of Cyprus to advise and assist in the declaration of intervention of the Republic, which was submitted to the Court on 13 December 2022.
