Herbert Smith Freehills Oxford Disability Mooting Championship 2024
Faculty members, students, and alumni, and members of the wider University, are invited to attend the Grand Final of the Herbert Smith Freehills Oxford Disability Mooting Championship 2024 and the associated Panel Discussion.
This year, the moot problem concerns the use of AI technology and disability discrimination in the workplace. Members of the audience will be able to watch the competition finalists present their oral arguments before a panel of judges, led by The Rt. Hon. Sir Ernest Ryder (Master of Pembroke and, formerly, Lord Justice of Appeal and President of UK Tribunals).
The final will be followed (after a break for tea and coffee) by a Panel Discussion, chaired by Professor Rebecca Williams (Professor of Public Law and Criminal Law, Oxford) on AI, Inclusive Technology and Digital Justice.

3.00 pm Grand Final of the Mooting Championship, Pichette Auditorium, Pembroke College
The Grand Final will be judged by Professor John Armour (Dean of the Oxford Law Faculty and Professor of Law); Mr Robin Allen KC (Barrister, Cloisters Chambers); and Ms Rachel Lidgate (Partner and solicitor advocate, HSF).

5.00 pm AI, Inclusive Technology and Digital Justice: Pitfalls and Potential, Pichette Auditorium, Pembroke College
The Grand Final will be followed by a panel discussion on AI, Inclusive Technology and Digital Justice. The panel will be chaired by Professor Rebecca Williams (Professor of Public Law and Criminal Law, Oxford) and comprise: Zareen Ali (CEO and co-founder of Cogs AI); Robin Christopherson (Head of Digital Inclusion at AbilityNet); and Matthew Johnston (Global Head of Disability Inclusion and Digital Accessibility Advocate at Thoughtworks).
