The OIPRC is delighted to present an expert panel discussion on the use of alternative dispute resolution methods, namely mediation and arbitration, for the settlement of Intellectual Property Disputes, with Professor Dev Gangjee (University of Oxford), Chiara Accornero (Legal Officer - IP Disputes at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center), Professor Wayne Stacy (Executive Director, Berkeley Center For Law & Technology), and Alejandro Garcia (International Arbitration Partner at Stewarts), being chaired by Thais Gadotti (MSc Candidate at Oxford and IP Lawyer at Bhering) and Caio Nunes (International Advisor at White & Case LLP).
The panel will debate, inter alia, ADR mechanisms for B2B digital copyright/content disputes; the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Center’s practice for IP and technology disputes; Mandatory ADR requirements in the US Courts and how they impact patent litigation, and the role of the arbitrator in an IP arbitration.
