Erich Brost Lecturer in German and European Union Law, Institute of European and Comparative Law

Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 per annum
The Faculty of Law is looking to appoint a suitably qualified person to the Erich Brost Lectureship in German and European Union Law with effect from 1 October 2019
The postholder will be required to teach for the Faculty in German law, and to teach undergraduate students for St Hilda’s College in European Union Law (or, by mutual agreement, another subject within the core undergraduate curriculum); to undertake research in the areas of German law and/or European Union Law and/or another field of law in which they have expertise; to disseminate the outcome of their research by publication of articles, books, or other appropriate materials; to
examine for the Faculty and take an active part in the work of the Institute of European and Comparative Law under the direction of the Director of the Institute; and to assist the Law tutors of St Hilda's College with the administration of Law teaching in the college.
Applicants must have excellent knowledge and understanding of German Law and European Union Law, acquired through academic study and/or legal practice; a doctorate or equivalent academic achievement; demonstrated capacity to make a substantial and significant contribution to research, and for publication of the outcome of research, in German Law and/or European Union Law and/or in another field of law and the ability to give excellent lectures, classes and tutorial teaching within the field of appointment.
