British Academy - Policy Insight Case Studies

The British Academy is inviting proposals for policy-focused research projects to support two of its public policy programmes.
Scope
Projects must address at least one of two policy areas, namely (a) technology and inequality and/or (b) environmental sustainability and place, and specify which policy area(s) their case studies will engage with. Policy insights should be considered along one or more of the following the dimensions: place (physical and social context, locality), scale (individual, community, regional, national) and time (past, present, future; short-, medium-, and long-term).
Eligibility
The lead applicant must be a humanities or social science researcher of at least postdoctoral-equivalent status and be UK-based (co-applicants may be based elsewhere). Individuals can only apply for one project as PI and no more than two as a co-applicant.
Duration and Value
Awards are for a period of 6 months, with a maximum award value of £25,000. Funding can be used to support research assistance; travel, fieldwork and related expenses; and networking costs. Projects must begin in March 2023.

Applications can only be submitted online using the British Academy Flexi-Grant® Grant Management System (GMS). The deadline for submissions and UK host organisation approval is 1 February 2023 (17:00 GMT).
