Project Description
Is there a legal principle like anti-racism? This project responds to this question by looking for a principle of anti-racism in equality law. In particular, it explores whether the prohibition of racial discrimination in international and comparative law reflects something like a principle of anti-racism. For this purpose, it sketches an interdisciplinary account of anti-racism and tests whether that account of anti-racism is reflected in legal doctrine. The project aims to show the gap between (i) what non-legal accounts consider anti-racism and (ii) what law considers the prohibition of racial discrimination, and specifically that the latter (ii) does not include the former (i).
