The Making of Differentiated Beings in Israel: how and why the state excludes

While the world looks with concern at Israel’s violence in Gaza and the wider region, ethnic minorities within Israel face increasing levels and forms of injustice within the criminal justice system. This project interrogates differential use of state powers to control and exclude racialised minority groups in Israel. Taking an interdisciplinary approach it examines group interactions with the Israeli state over the last decade, in light of historical antecedents of group exclusion, to uncover links between structural racism and colonial durabilities, and identify potential paths for change.
