The JDG is an informal forum for discussing new and original work in moral, political, and legal philosophy. Since its creation in 1997 by Timothy Endicott, the Discussion Group has been a focal point for graduate students and members of the Faculty interested in jurisprudence. We meet on Thursday afternoons during term time. In 2024-2025 seminars begin usually at 17:00 and are followed by a Q&A session. More information about location and speakers for each seminar will be available before the start of the term.

Anyone may join our mailing list by sending a blank email at jurisprudence-discussion-group-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk. Subscribers receive advance copies of the papers under discussion, but we otherwise keep emails to a minimum.

In 2024-25, the JDG is convened by  Pía Chible, Filipa Paes and Angelo Ryu. You can find the term card for Michaelmas 2024 below with further details as to each seminar's speaker, paper, location and date/time.
