In this video, Neil Graffin, Senior Lecturer of the Open University Law School, describes his empirical work into the emotional demands of working in asylum practice, and briefly outlines some of his findings from his research. These include the experience of burnout amongst practitioners, and detachment/ alienation from clients, which can have positive as well as negative effects.
