About

The seventh Afghanistan Media Law Moot Court Competition also called the Afghanistan National Rounds was held in June 2018.  The oral rounds of the competition took place from 23 – 26 June where all teams gathered to the capital city Kabul. Oral rounds involved 6 universities including Paktia University, Ghazni University, Konduz University, Parwan University, Panjsher University and Takhar University competed with each other.

This year case was covering privacy, defamations, freedom of speech and freedom of internet. The teams had used and referenced the International treaties, Afghanistan constitutions law, criminal code, right to information law, Sharia Law and media law in their written memorials as well as during the court hearing sessions (oral rounds).

This program is implemented by Internews Network-Afghanistan funded by USAID.

Best Memorial for Afghanistan National Rounds 2018 goes to Paktia University

Best Speakers for Afghanistan National Rounds 2018 goes to Najibullah Rassoly from Ghazni University,   Shukria from Kunduz University and Wahidullah from Takhar University 

Best Speaker in Finals for Afghanistan National Rounds 2017 goes to Abdul Nasir Qasimi from Paktia University

Spirit of the Competition award for Afghanistan National Rounds 2018 goes to Faryab University
