The LSE-Featherstone Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Moot competition, organised by the Department of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science, is dedicated to the consideration of areas of sexual orientation and gender identity law. The moot provides a forum for law students to hone their advocacy skills, learn more about sexual orientation and gender identity issues and their interfaces with the law, and to network with LGBT and ally students, campaigners, practitioners, and members of the judiciary. The oral rounds of the moot run alongside workshops, discussions, and panels focused on the gamut of LGBTQ+ issues and their interface with the law.
Teams will be required to submit written skeleton arguments if they are to qualify for the oral rounds. The preliminary oral rounds are followed by semi-final and final rounds. Oxford teams won the inaugural 2016 edition of the moot and emerged runners-up in the 2017 edition of the moot.
