Exchange Programmes

You are invited to apply for the IECL’s academic exchanges with partner institutions. The opportunity is open to every postholder (Faculty or College level) and PGR in the Faculty of Law or its Centres, except the Alpa, which is for PGRs or non-permanent postholders only. Each exchange runs between March and September in the academic year you are applying in, except the EUI exchange which runs from October to June in the academic year after you apply.

Detailed in each individual advert you will find information surrounding accommodation, facilities (e.g. library access), funding and involvement with your chosen institution, as well as any criteria. No exchange partner will require you to know the local language or to teach, but you are expected to participate in the general academic environment, including attending seminars and potentially presenting your work.

This table provides a simplified outline for each programme. For full details, please follow the links.

Applications should be submitted via this form by 12 noon on Friday, Week 0, Hilary Term (17 January 2025). You will need to include:

  1. An up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV), including a list of publications;
  2. A brief research proposal, including why a visit to the affiliated institution will contribute to your research;
  3. And, if you’re applying as a graduate student, a supporting letter from your supervisor.
