About our events
Law and finance related events may include, but are not limited to, events, workshops, presentations and conferences on the subject of law, business and finance or involving members of the Faculty’s academic staff who work predominantly in the field of law and finance. By subscribing, you may also be selected on occasion to receive further invitations to exclusive events in and around the University of Oxford in the field of law and finance.
During term time we run the Oxford Business Law Workshops and Senior Practitioner Lecture Series.
The Oxford Business Law Workshops is a weekly forum (term time on Wednesdays) for the presentation and discussion of current research in the field of business law, broadly construed. Presentations are given by a mix of external speakers, faculty visitors, and faculty members and research students. The workshop attracts an interdisciplinary mix of participants, with colleagues and students from the Faculty of Law, the Saïd Business School, the Blavatnik School of Government, and the Department of Economics.
The Senior Practitioner Lecture Series is an initiative at the Oxford Faculty of Law within the MSc in Law and Finance programme. It is mainly aimed at engaging students (MLFs, BCL/Mjur, and PG research students) in a wide range of up-to-date topics and trends with direct industry relevance. It consists of short lectures (1-hour length) given by practitioners working in the field with contents ranging from theoretical to more hands-on, or overviews, with a strong emphasis on the everyday applications and challenges.
