BPP Advocate of the Year

BPP’s Advocate of the Year is an annual national mock trial competition for undergraduate students of any discipline, studying at university in England or Wales. The students are marked on amongst other things their submission advocacy, examination-in-chief and cross examination.

The competition is judged by law school tutors and external practitioners, who are all qualified lawyers with real trial experience. The competition involves real-life cases and witnesses, replicating work at the junior Bar.

The Grand Final is held at the Old Bailey. All competitors will receive intensive feedback and guidance. The overall winner will be awarded a scholarship for BPP’s new Barrister Training Course, with other prizes awarded to the most promising advocates.
