Biography

Katerina Rozakou is a social anthropologist with expertise in political anthropology, humanitarianism, the state, voluntarism and civil society. She is currently an assistant professor of Social Anthropology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, Greece. Her first research project was based on extensive research with volunteers assisting refugees in Athens. Between 2014-2018 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam and she carried out research with employees of state institution, non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations, local populations and volunteers/solidarians in Athens and Lesvos. Her work has been published in academic journals and she has also published a monograph on voluntary work with refugees (2018 in Greek, English translation in preparation).
