Biography

Greer received her BA from Columbia University in 2011, graduating magna cum laude and with departmental honors in History. She was awarded a Kellett Fellowship to attend Oxford, and is finishing her MPhil in Development Studies this year. Her MPhil dissertation, which is based on fieldwork in Ghanaian fishing communities, focuses on the use of ?child trafficking? discourse in NGO advocacy. As an undergraduate, Greer worked as an intern in the National Legal Department of the American Civil Liberties Union, where she assisted lawyers on human rights and national security cases. She has also worked in the Communications Office of Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti and for Shared Interest ? a microfinance organization based in South Africa. She has previously served as an editor of the Columbia Undergraduate History Journal and the Columbia Political Review. Greer is currently an Editor of the Oxford Human Rights Hub Blog.
